Beachbody Performance Energize Pre-Workout

PreWorkout + Pregnancy? ? You’ve gotta be kidding me right?

PreWORKOUT and PREGNANCY, is it safe?

**DISCLAIMER** ALWAYS check with your doctor before starting a new fitness program OR choosing supplements!

I’m no superhuman, I’m growing a human in my body which is pretty super but I don’t have a special energy superpower that allows me to get my booty out of bed and work out. I’m a normal human being! No, I take that back I’m a normal NON MORNING human being 😂. I enjoy my warm cozy bed and staying in it until I absolutely must get out of it. If you’re connected with me on social media (and if you’re not why aren’t you???) then you’ll notice I’ve been up early in the AM getting my workout in before little man wakes up, so how am I doing it? Well, let me explain.

PreWorkout, my experience

Pre-pregnancy, I was taking preworkout every day to get my workout in – sometimes 2 workouts! I was killing Body Beast which can be over 50 minutes of strength training and then I’d follow that up a few hours later with a 21 Day Fix workout. I loved my preworkout Energize!!! But of course, when I found out that I was pregnant I immediately stopped taking it, I assumed it was harmful to my baby. And honestly, I was so tired and sick in the first trimester that I had no desire to workout anyways!

Once I started feeling better I still couldn’t find the energy to workout. My doctor told me I could have up to 2 cups of coffee per day, well as much as I love coffee trying to drink it quickly before a workout just isn’t in the cards for me. I did my best to force myself to workout and sometimes I would, sometimes I wouldn’t. It just didn’t feel the same, I wasn’t into it.

Reaching out

I’m a part of a Facebook group for prego’s that want to workout and stay active and I posted in there asking what they did for energy. I was shocked when I got a response from someone that said they were taking the pre-workout Energize! They mentioned a blog post that broke down the ingredients and how they were safe during pregnancy. So I talked it over with my hubby, I found the blog post, I did some of my own research and we decided (yup I said we because ya know…his baby too!) to go ahead and try it.

So one morning I forced myself out of bed and chugged some Energize, 10 minutes later I was feeling pretty good and had a killer workout. Ok, I say killer but I was a damn good workout, it was killer for a prego ok? I was still a little concerned, did I do something wrong, was I harming my baby? My 20-week appointment was coming up so I decided to hold off on taking it until I talked to my doctor. After my doctor looked over the label she gave me the green light!

Preworkout and Pregnancy…how did it go?

For about 3 weeks ago, I’ve been taking Energize at least 3x a week for my early morning workouts and I’m feeling great. It’s made all the difference because as I mentioned earlier, I am NOT a morning person and I need that boost in the mornings to get me going.  Could I do it without the Energize, well yea you can do anything but I wouldn’t have the same energy, I wouldn’t be as motivated and I wouldn’t get the same results. So there you have it, my secret weapon!

Should YOU take pre-workout while pregnant?

Would I suggest that YOU mix preworkout and pregnancy? No, I wouldn’t! I WOULD suggest that you talk to your doctor about it and show him/her the ingredients. A couple of reasons we felt good about trying it was:

  • The caffeine in Energize is low dose and comes from Green Tea
  • There aren’t a lot of ingredients in it, which is always a good thing!

Do your own research and talk to your doctor, I’m glad I did!

Preworkout and Pregnancy! 22 Weeks and Feeling Great ❤️

I love that this Preworkout and Pregnancy post has been getting a lot of views, it’s been my most popular post ever! Just to update you, over two years later. My pregnancy was amazing. I continued taking Energize and worked out until about 37 weeks pregnant. There were ZERO issues in my pregnancy and my beautiful, healthy, baby girl was born after a QUICK delivery at 38 weeks! Did working out help me have an easier delivery? I don’t know. But I do know that I loved working out during my pregnancy and I am so glad I took Energize to help with energy.

No longer a Beachbody Coach I will STILL stand by this product. Just a reminder CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR ALWAYS! They know best!

I’m now starting a NEW workout program! Would love to have you join me!

[…] forcing myself out of bed to workout! More on how in this ➡️ blog post. Getting my workout done first thing in the morning, as hard as it is, is the absolute best thing […]

Hi! Did you also take your recover? I JUST found out I’m pregnant.. I felt pregnant but today the pregnancy test confirmed it

I didn’t start using the entire line until after I had my baby girl but I would have taken it in to my doctor as well to see what she said. I did drink Shakeology (also approved by my Doc!). Congrats on your pregnancy!! I would absolutely suggest talking to your doctor first, they know you best! Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy and thanks for stopping by!

Hey I’m a Beachbody coach and found out yesterday I’m pregnant with my first! I’ve spent hours googling about workouts and shakeo and energize. My doctor who met me for the first time didn’t listen about my active lifestyle and told me not to workout at all. I cried In the room and she told me this is a time for me to nap and rest for nine months. I’m an athlete. Ive done all the BOD programs. I camt just Stop! What programs did you follow for your trimesters? I’m at 6 weeks now.

Hi! First of all congrats!!! So exciting!! I would never argue with your doctor because they know your medical history best but if you strongly feel you want to stay active I would try to have another talk and be open about WHY you want to continue to be active and how you feel you can benefit from it. My doctor was very supportive, she was also an athlete and I felt she understood me better than a male doctor I had previously seen. Maybe including the types of workouts you want to do and letting them know you don’t want to push yourself just be active. As far as workout programs I followed Autumns Maternity program and also threw in some 21 Day Fix (I left out the ab work and modified any of the cardio type stuff or skipped it entirely), I really liked Autumns Barre Legs – I felt it was super easy on my body and no weights. Wishing you a healthy pregnancy!!! Also…get those naps in…I agree with that 100% hahaha
