Recovering From a Break

Sometimes you just need to press pause on an aspect of your life and take a break, that’s OK! But how do you recover? How do you get back into a routine when you’ve been out of one for so long? Well, it’s simple! You do the work and take it day by day! Recovering From a Break Step 1: Make a short-term and long-term plan. Took a break from working out? Start a new program but plan it week by week. Don’t overwhelm yourself with looking past week 1 and into week 6. Step 2: Prepare. Haven’t posted a blog in a while? Write out a few blogs and keep them in your drafts so you’re prepared and working ahead! Step 3: DO! Dive back in! Read More

2017 Goal Crushin

Goal Crushin! Making 2017 My Best Year Yet!

It’s that time of year….people are starting to think about the New Year: what lies ahead for them, thinking about all the things they want to accomplish, maybe setting a new goal or two. New Years Resolutions may seem cliche but you have to admit there’s something about a fresh new calendar year that just makes you reevaluate and makes you believe that things can, in fact, be different. The problem I’ve had with New Years Resolutions (and the reason I rarely make any) is that they are just so hard to stick with. Just like the majority of people I start off strong then life gets in the way and I slowly start making excuses to not follow through. My fitness and health has Read More

Role Model

Monkey See ?, Monkey Do ?. Why organization is so important to me now, more than ever!

Finding out that I’m having a daughter has really had a strange effect on me. I was NOT expecting to have daughter, for some reason I had it in my head that I was going to have a little army of boys – my very own personal bodyguards! I was already planning all the things my boys would do together, what their rooms would look like, the sports they’d play together…it was just obvious to me, I’d have boys only. But then I heard the ultrasound tech say “It’s a girl” and I was completely floored. It took me a few days to process and probably an entire week to even let myself get excited. But in that week I started thinking “what can I Read More

Beachbody Performance Energize Pre-Workout

PreWorkout + Pregnancy? ? You’ve gotta be kidding me right?

I’m no superhuman, I mean I’m growing a human in my body which is pretty super but I don’t have a special energy superpower that allows me to get my booty out of bed and work out. I’m a normal human being….no I take that back I’m a normal NON MORNING human being that enjoys a warm cozy bed and staying in it until I absolutely must get out of it. If you’re connected with me on social media (and if you’re not why aren’t you???) then you’ll notice I’ve been up early in the AM getting my workout in before little man wakes up, so how am I doing it? Well let me explain. **DISCLAIMER** Always check with your doctor before starting a new Read More

Surprise!

You might have noticed (well hopefully you did) that I took a little social media hiatus for the past couple of months. Well I have a good reason. Not only did I take a break from social media but I also took a break from working out and following an eating plan. Why? Well if you haven’t already heard…I’m pregnant! Yup! Bun in the oven. Knocked up. Now that reason alone is not an excuse for not working out and eating well and what does that have to do with social media? Well let me explain. The last week of June I wasn’t feeling well at all, I had worked out pretty hard one Saturday (double workout with pre & post workout, Shakeology & BIG Read More

My Body Beast Meal Plan

Let me start off by saying this is not an official meal plan of Body Beast. I’m excited to start the 12 Week Body Beast program but the eating plan looked like too much work and too much food! So this is a custom Body Beast Meal Plan I came up with, my calorie level has gone up so using the 21 Day Fix portion control containers I’m going to add an additional Green, Red and Yellow container to my current plan. I’m also going to give myself some room to add another Purple but I have a hard time reaching 2 purple containers so I’m trying to be realistic. So this is what my chart looks like 4 Green 2 Purple 5 Red 3 Read More

3 Day Refresh

3 Day Refresh Recap

It’s over! It’s finally over!! Only joking this cleanse was not so bad, I expected much worst. I expected to be hungry all day, to be in the bathroom all day and to be grouchy…well grouchier than usual 😉 But it is in fact, over. I finished my 3 Day Refresh yesterday and I really couldn’t be happier with the results and experience. So let’s talk about this 3 day cleanse and how it went! RECAP Well I already posted my Day 1 recap. I’m pretty sure Day 1 was the least “fun” I was craving all the food I couldn’t eat, I had a caffeine withdrawal headache, and I had that pain in my right side but it wasn’t unbearable. Day 2 was much Read More

Refresh Day 1

Almost bedtime on Day 1 of my 3 Day Refresh! The idea of a cleanse didn’t sound too appealing, I wasn’t too excited about no coffee for even 1 day and no eating?! I was excited to see when I opened up my 3 Day Refresh package that there were several dinner options to choose from and it seemed like I would be eating pretty often. Check out my YouTube video on what exactly comes with the 3 Day Refresh and learn more about the meal options!   So how did Day 1 go? Well, I had a hard time keeping up with the food intake I got a late start to having my first shake so it threw me off for the rest of the Read More

Let’s Meal Prep!

It’s taken me a few months to get this meal prep thing down and although I still have some work to do I think I’ve got a nice little routine going. You may be wondering if meal prepping is right for you, well only you can decide that but I can tell you that yes it takes extra work on the weekend but I literally cook nothing all week when I do this meal prep the right way. My breakfast is made, my snacks are ready, my lunch is ready and dinner is a salad that I just throw together. And keep in mind when I say that I don’t have to cook any meals all week I am strictly talking about cooking my own meals, Read More
