It’s over! It’s finally over!! Only joking this cleanse was not so bad, I expected much worst. I expected to be hungry all day, to be in the bathroom all day and to be grouchy…well grouchier than usual 😉 But it is in fact, over. I finished my 3 Day Refresh yesterday and I really couldn’t be happier with the results and experience.

So let’s talk about this 3 day cleanse and how it went!

RECAP

Well I already posted my Day 1 recap. I’m pretty sure Day 1 was the least “fun” I was craving all the food I couldn’t eat, I had a caffeine withdrawal headache, and I had that pain in my right side but it wasn’t unbearable. Day 2 was much better, I still had a slight caffeine withdrawal headache but no pain in my stomach and wasn’t really craving anything. I actually felt pretty energized and couldn’t wait for my snacks and dinner! Day 3 was a breeze, I got in all of my water intake like nothing (I woke up so thirsty!), drank all my shakes on time, ate my snacks and dinner on time. I felt pretty awesome! I even decided to workout on Day 3 and I did Yoga Fix from my 21 Day Fix program, the stretches felt so good.

POOPY STUFF

So was I in the bathroom all day?…NO! I was shocked, I thought for sure I’d be poopin like crazy but everything was fine in that area (nothing out of the ordinary), I didn’t need to be close to a bathroom all day. Yes all the fluids did make me pee a lot but you’d expect that. I will say that I was pretty gassy (yes girls have gas, get over it!). I wasn’t sure what to expect when it came to bathroom trips but it wasn’t that bad!

THE FOOD!

Ok the food was pretty awesome. My lunch was 1 vegetable option and 1 heathy fats option with a Vanilla Fresh shake and my mid afternoon snack was 1 vegetable option and 1 healthy fats option. To make it simple I had the same thing for both on each day. Day 1 I had 2 tablespoons of avocado with 5 baby carrots, Day 2 was the same and Day 3 I had 2 tablespoons of hummus with 5 baby carrots. Simple, yummy and I didn’t feel hungry afterwards. My dinners were awesome. Day 1 I had the cucumber salad which was made with cucumbers, tomato, onion, parsley, basil and a dressing of red wine vinegar, balsamic vinegar, lemon juice and olive oil. So much yum I had it for Day 3 too! Day 2 I had the spinach salad which included tomato, bell pepper, alfalfa sprouts and the dressing was made of lemon juice and olive oil. This salad was filling but it was also dry, I like a little more dressing than what was allowed. If I could have I would have made the dressing from the cucumber salad and mixed that in with the spinach salad…and I may do that in the future because I will be making both of these salads again!

THE SHAKES

Well you all know I love Shakeology, I decided to try Greenberry and I’m glad I did!! The program comes with 3 so I kept one to drink later and replaced it with a vanilla on Day 3. Fiber Sweep – ok not my favorite. The taste was fine, I added lemon juice and a dash of cinnamon, but the texture was just what you’d expect from a fiber drink! I blended mine with ice and that seemed to help. Vanilla Fresh, YUM! This protein packed shake was so good, I’m wondering if Beachbody sells it on its own! I was able to add fruit to my first Vanilla Fresh shake (lunch) but drank it on ice for dinner.

THE BAD PART

Sure you may think since I’m a Beachbody Coach I have to say I loved it. But I really did. I’ll definitely do this again! The downside for me was no coffee. I drink about 3 cups of coffee per day and I add a lot of sugar. So the withdrawal headache sucked but once I hit Day 3 the headache was gone! And today the day after my 3 Day Refresh I had so much energy that I didn’t even drink coffee, I wasn’t even tempted.

THE RESULTS

I didn’t workout on Day 1 or Day 2 and on Day 3 I did a 30 minute yoga workout so you can’t really say that I burned so many calories I lost a ton of weight. The weight I lost was definitely getting rid of all that garbage I was holding onto (I saw proof of that) and my calorie intake on the 3 Day Refresh was around 900 calories and my required calories with a workout is 1,200 so I wasn’t too far off. Also, I know weight can fluctuate throughout the day so I was careful to weigh myself every morning after I woke up and went to the bathroom. I did nothing else, just went from my bed to the bathroom, did my business and stepped on the scale – I wanted to keep the numbers as comparable as possible. I also weighed myself every night before bed and here’s that picture just to show you numbers fluctuate but the results were the same, I consistently lost.
