A Little Color

The boring beige walls in our house were starting to drive me crazy, I needed some color in my life! I wasn’t quite sure which way to go with a couple accent walls, bright and fun or warm and cozy. I’ve always loved gray’s and rich browns so after trying out some colorful samples that just didn’t feel right to me I decided to try out some warmer colors. At first I thought my brown/gray color choice, Complex Gray, was going to be too dark for the dimly lit hallway between the boys’ room (and I’m pretty sure no one else liked the choice either) after it was up and dry I LOVED it. I chose white accents on the wall that would really pop and I’m so happy with the choice.

For my 2nd accent wall in our living room I chose Magnetic Gray, it has some blue undertones and the black frames look clean & crisp against the warm gray.

Since this is not only our first home together it’s also our first time buying a home for each of us and we didn’t come in to it with established decor, which means we had no frames. None. Instead of shopping at Target for frames I decided to really get a bang for a buck and check out thrift stores. I found so many frames and some were only .50 cents! Score! Of course I didn’t find any white frames for my Complex Gray wall but I did find some great wood frames, nothing a $3 can of spray paint couldn’t fix!

It’s amazing how a simple thing like frames with pictures and a little paint can really transform not only the wall but how you feel about your house in general. It just feels better walking into the house and seeing our pictures up on the wall. We’re making a home. ❤️🏡

    • The beige was already in the home when we bought it so I’m not sure! I wish they would have left some paint cans around. I’m actually planning on painting those walls a yellow, will keep you posted! Thanks for stopping by!
